Technical preparation and FAQ before ordering. Read this page first to avoid detours; for specific help, use the WhatsApp inquiry.

Fabric range

Silk twill, charmeuse, silk-wool and wool. We can also print on silk, cotton, linen, ramie, cupro and some rayon — natural fabrics that are rarely used for scarves, so we keep no stock. If an order uses 45 m of silk or 100 m of other fabric, we can arrange production. For fabrics not listed in our catalogue we cannot promise a 1-piece or small-quantity print run — thank you for understanding.

Momme

Momme is the weight per square metre and the main measure of a fabric's thickness and quality. The higher the momme, the thicker the fabric. Formula: grams per square metre ÷ 4.3056. Example: 16 momme ≈ 69 g/m².

Hemming

A hand-rolled hem is fine, durable and a mark of high quality; a machine-rolled hem is efficient and therefore common on lower-priced products. Today only Suzhou does hand-rolled hems, and it does them best — but skilled hands are scarce. In peak season labour is tight and lead time may slip slightly. To protect quality we always aim to deliver on the promised date, but please bear with us if a small adjustment is needed in exceptional cases.

Double-sided printing

In single-sided printing the pattern is clear on one face only and the reverse looks washed out; it costs less. Double-sided printing is crisp on both faces and wearable either way, with a more complex process and higher quality. Synchronised double-sided digital printing is a newer technique that prints both faces of the fabric at once, keeping the two patterns accurately registered, with good penetration — the two faces can be same pattern / same colour or same pattern / different colour. Different pattern with different colour is possible, but the result is not good.

Colour difference

Colour reproduction in digital printing is affected by fabric, machine and ink, and cannot be 100% identical. Without colour adjustment, a conservative figure is that we reproduce 70–80% of the colour you see on screen. To agree on expectations we suggest using your screen colour or a physical swatch as the reference — but screens differ from each other too, so for strict requirements we make a pre-production sample for your approval before bulk production. Even then a difference of 1–3% may remain. Because colour stability is relatively weak, small variations during production affect the final result, and demanding orders often need 3–4 rounds of confirmation before the artwork is final. The same note appears in the quotation.

Silk twill, charmeuse and silk-wool

Silk twill is a twill weave on both faces, with a soft sheen both ways and a slightly crisp, structured handle that holds its shape when worn — which is why brands use it widely. Charmeuse is bright on one face and matte on the other: soft, silky and with excellent drape, but it falls softly, suits a flowing and romantic look, and is therefore rare among international brands. Silk-wool (mulberry silk + wool) is mostly used for autumn and winter scarves, combining silk's sheen with wool's warmth and body for a premium feel. These three fabrics are currently the first-choice main fabrics for genuinely high-quality scarves.

Custom order flow

We first talk until we reach a shared understanding, then set up a group chat with the factory to work through the details: artwork → fabric → size → price → quantity → lead time → deposit → production → factory inspection → final quantity → balance payment → shipping → your acceptance and feedback. Our workshop sequence is: fabric inspection → seaming → sizing → rolling → printing → steaming → washing → setting → hemming → final inspection and dispatch.

Sales advice

We honestly find this hard to answer, because doing right by you means we cannot give a conclusion based on a hunch. It would take a detailed understanding of your positioning, target customers, pricing strategy and past sales data — and even then, in a fast-moving market, last year's experience may not apply today. So we would rather give no advice than mislead you. Thank you for understanding.

Design service

We do have design experience, but experience cannot replace your specific requirements. With vague briefs such as 'use your experience', 'premium feel', 'like a big brand' or 'make it sell well', even heavy communication and cost end in repeated rework and a poor experience for both sides. So we do not offer commissioned creative design services. To be straightforward: we are a silk scarf manufacturing partner, not a creative agency — we do not make creative, aesthetic or market judgements for you. If you already have a clear plan or artwork, hand it to us for production and the cooperation will be smoother and more efficient. Thank you for understanding.

Confidentiality

Keeping your designs confidential is a professional bottom line for us — artwork is never passed on and never used for any other purpose. We fully respect the value of your designs. But precisely because some losses are "immeasurable" (projected revenue, brand impact and so on), the boundary of responsibility has to be clear before we start: we may receive only a few tens of dollars in processing fees up front, and cannot accept unlimited claims based on assumptions or intangible value. We are willing to sign an NDA, destroy files completely, and pay reasonable compensation for verifiable direct loss (for example, capped at USD 400). If that risk is still unacceptable to you, we fully understand and respect your choice of a partner who suits you better.

Gift box

We are a factory focused on silk scarf customisation and in principle do not provide gift-box customisation. Standard packing: each scarf in its own transparent plastic bag. Gift-box packing is not our speciality, so we suggest buying boxes locally — just tell us the box dimensions and we can press and fold the scarves to size in advance, so on arrival you can take them straight out of the bag and into the box.

Washing & care

Dry clean, or hand wash gently in cold water. Dry in the shade away from direct sun. Iron at low temperature with a cloth over the silk. Store rolled.
