Different fabrics vary a lot in hand-feel, drape, thickness and price. Choose by the effect you want rather than blindly chasing the most expensive option.
A fine diagonal weave, crisp with body, stable color reproduction and resistant to distortion — the most common scarf fabric. Good for square and long scarves; smooth drape, less prone to wrinkling. Common momme: 16 / 17.8 / 18 / 22.
Glossy mirror-like front, matte back, luxurious sheen, cool and smooth to the touch. Strong drape but slightly prone to snagging; ideal for gifts and looks that call for "premium shine." Common momme: 12 / 14 / 16.
Mulberry silk blended with wool (e.g. 10% silk + 90% wool), combining silk's sheen with wool's warmth and body — the top choice for autumn/winter scarves; holds its shape and doesn't collapse.
Mulberry silk + cashmere (e.g. 35% silk + 65% cashmere), extremely soft, light and warm with a high-end feel; suited to premium scarves, at a higher unit price.
Pure wool, thick, warm and cost-effective; good for large winter long scarves, with a firmer drape.
Want crisp color → twill; want mirror sheen → charmeuse; want autumn/winter warmth → silk wool / silk cashmere / wool. For detailed specs and pricing see Pricing; for material test data see Quality.
